How do I make it NOT change my fonts?
Published on October 3, 2007 By Mascot68 In WindowBlinds
I rather love the new Molten skin, but it messes around with my fonts. So I try the "I do not want to use any system fonts defined by this skin". This has no discernible effect.

The problem is that the font settings it switches to are so big labels no longer fit on tabs, installation instructions gets lost as there's not enough room in the dialog windows etc. I just want the skin to NOT mess with my fonts in any way.

Is there an option I'm missing, or is the before mentioned option supposed to prevent this exact issue?

I did try the link at the bottom (You can change system fonts and other fonts...), but there's a lot there. Including many identical entries and no preview of what affects what. I've tried a few changes but either it had no effect or it just affected nothing I could find.

Then there's the "Do you want to override the font defined by the skin?" listbox that lets me pick between "Allow skin to choose fonts", and.. a single font. That seems a bit strange considering the myriad of fonts listed in the other window. And there's no size setting so it doesn't help my issue much.

Since there doesn't seem to be any documentation yet, I'm hoping someone here is in the know.

There is a slider on the fonts page which lets you change the size of fonts.

Sorry, forgot to mention I tried that too. The font the skin picks is inherently much wider than the regular font. The result is that when shrinking it down to a comparable size in width, it becomes pretty much unreadable.

Molten doesn't seem to skin the Problem Reports and Solution window on Vista properly. Its transparent on the title and the 'Back' button is missing.

Since the thread notification reminded me of this topic, any chance of a fix for WB not honoring the "I do not want to use any system fonts defined by this skin" selection?

Or an explanation of what that checkbox is meant to do since it doesn't prevent the skin from changing the system fonts?

While on the topic, the overrides seem a bit iffy in general. If I select a particular application and tell it to not skin it at all, that works fine. However, if I choose "only skin this applications title bar", that has no effect unless I also check boxes under "feature disabling". Which makes the "only skin title bar" option seem rather pointless.

Thats WB not the skin itself. Every skin has that issue. My guess is it was overlooked?

Yeah I see, the transparency is showing in all my skins. But only Molten has a missing 'Back' button.

One you can delete the text for it will confuse the wb6 and/or SKS6 from changing any fonts with the controls setup in WB or SKS. Thus this is the authors flaw at adding the wrong set of system fonts. To have a complete correction that will work properly to have system fonts used by wb6 and sks6 add this text in place of the former that should of been deleted...
